Inside: How to frame a brooch
While I go for my morning runs I love to think and plan out projects, my day and anything else that may be going on. I have been trying to find something unique to place in a small ornate square frame I bought for my daughter's bedroom at Winners (TJ Maxx in the US) a few months ago. I had a lightbulb moment while my feet were hitting the pavement this morning.
And this is what I came up with...
a little bling for her room.
All that was needed was a frame (with the glass removed), a piece of black linen and batting. I wrapped the fabrics around the glass and then inserted it back into the frame. The back cover was put back on, the brooch pinned in place and...
Voila!

ReplyDeleteI'm a little late to this post, Barbara, but I love this! I actually saw something similar in a store I was in while on vacation in PA this week {can't remember which store now} and I loved it. I think they used decorative appliques, but your pin makes for a nicer look.

ReplyDeleteI am totally going to, ahem, borrow this idea from you for my very own house, if that's ok. Just spectactular!! Great job. :) Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo clever! I want to try this - I have so many retro pins. More than I could wear in my lifetime (esp. considering I work from home most days).
ReplyDeleteI've recently done this with some pins I inherited from my great aunts. That way, the artwork also has a story!
ReplyDeleteI love this. Gonna make this for my bed room
ReplyDeleteI love the broach, is it something that was in your family or did you get it somewhere? I'm getting married and looking for a nice broach just like this.
