Slowly Checking Off the To-do List

Slowly my to-do list is getting shorter.

Who am I kidding??

I just keep adding more to the list, but at least I am making some headway.

This past weekend all sports activities were cancelled due to our weeklong snowfall {Vancouverites don't handle snow too well} and I had some free time on my hands.

Using these photos as inspiration:

I finally hung up this.

So my husband comes home for a few days away skiing with the guys and announces he does not like my gallery wall.

Phooey on him. I like it. It stays.

And I really want to paint the walls, getting tired of the greeny hue. I think I might go crazy and paint the walls white!

I know, I like to live dangerously.

Another little project I worked on was a Martha-inspired blind made from a gorgeous linen for my friend Tracey.  In fact I am meeting up with her today. Fingers crossed this was what she had envisioned!

Since Tracey is a photographer extraordinaire, I will let her take photos of the blind up in her bathroom and then I will steal borrow her photos!

I also worked on another project {I know this was a crazy productive weekend!} that involved
this:

Here's to another productive week!

XO Barbara

  2. You go, girl! And if I may, PHOOEY to your hubby from me too - your gallery wall looks great! :-) I've got one pretty much laid out and ready to go - just need to decide on a wall colour and then paint the wall the gallery is going on.

Doesn't it feel great to get projects finished? :-) I've been crossing projects off my list for the past month, and I can't wait till they're all done!

  7. I love your wall Barb! I think you did a fabulous job! I think the black frames are perfect. My husband went to Vancouver for a business trip and I painted the family room while he was gone. I painted over this hideous yellow that he had painted it while I was in Nova Scotia! But he hates painting, so in the end I always win because he's too lazy to paint. Haha! Have a wonderful day! 1. I love it when my hubby goes on business trips which are less frequent these days because I would always take on some major painting project when he did! Fingers crossed he takes on soon, I want to re-paint the whole main floor!

  11. Good for you! I am having a hard time finding that get-up-and-go motivation. Not sure what's bogging me down, because I have a project list a mile long. And so much that's on it are actually things I want to do... I think I'm over-thinking the process, and need to just get over it and on with it! Can't wait to see the blind :-)

  15. I think it looks great, Barbara, and I can relate too. I finally took ours down after months of complaint on my husband's part. He complained nicely (as nicely as one can complain) and so I gave in. I wonder why the men aren't up on this look?

  18. I think it's looking great! I'm just in the process of finishing the coats of paint on my white kitchen walls and I love it! Not a lot of peeps can understand that.

  19. Busy, busy girl, I just cooked and baked and ate and was generally unproductive on the creative front! I see your "M" up there, love it, I have my "E" out but haven't found quite the right spot yet. Guys don't like change, they think we're having a mid-life or something, give it some time:-)
