My weekend started by taking my 16 year old to her Royal Conservatory Piano Exam and then a trip to Tiffany's to pick her sweet 16 birthday present.
For our daughters' 16th birthdays we gave them each an heirloom piece of jewelry from their great-grandmothers AND then they get to pick a piece of jewelry from Tiffany's!
Loved the bracelet my daughter chose, it spells T-I-F-F-A-N-Y with each petal.
Since my husband and oldest daughter were away at their perspective athletic adventures/races I enjoyed the sun, walked the dog, mowed the lawn, got my hands dirty in the garden, worked on a sewing project and a painting project!
On Sunday morning I lazed in bed and poured over the latest Domino magazine.
Tonight I head to Ikea for their media preview night before their grand re-opening - going to hang out with my fabulous blogging gal pals tonight! Yesssss.... and we get a bit of a discount, so I am heading there with a bit of a list.
Can't wait!
XO Barbara
What a great idea for a Sweet 16 gift. I may use that in a couple of years. I'm having a giveaway if you are feeling lucky!
ReplyDeleteI love your birthday tradition, lucky lady! Is your daughter planning to go into music as a career?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend Barbara:)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you tonight :) LOVE the Tiffany bracelet. Gorge!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice way to celebrate sweet 16. I'll have to remember that. Did she get to chose anything from the entire store? Lucky, lucky girl:)
ReplyDeleteMake sure to take lots of pics and let us know the discounts that will be had. I'm itching to see the new ikea since all i've seen of it was them building it when i had to pick up the boyfriend from there.
ReplyDeleteYou're a good mom! I would have LOVED to be taken to Tiffany's as a teen! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful idea for your girls. I really like the thought behind it, the meaning and tradition of it. Good for you for taking it easy after all your get-up-and-go on Saturday. Can't wait to see what you've been working on! Have fun tonight - hello and hugs to everyone from this side of the Straight :-)
ReplyDeleteWow - what a nice gift, beautiful memories.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to tell us what you got at IKEA! :)
