Mmmm...

Yesterday I baked a batch of my family's traditional Czech Christmas cookies for the Style at Home Cookie Swap Contest I was invited to enter!

What made it even more enjoyable, along with the sun streaming through the windows, was listening to him...

singing Christmas carols.

Sigh...

Want to know what I made?

Here is the recipe if you feel like making some for yourself.

Christmas just isn't Christmas without these cookies. My mom has made them since I can remember so now I make them too.

And the dough is equally divine.

Yum.

What are your must-have cookies at Christmas?

  10. We must have Glazed Lemon Bread during the holidays (I actually blogged the recipe we use a couple days ago). We also love listening to Straight No Chaser at Christmas :)

  16. Your cookies are so beautiful Barbara! And they sound delicious - especially with hazelnuts...yum. My Mom & I make Polish kruschicki every year. They are definitely a family favorite.

    Hope you win!

  17. Your cookies look yummy!

My must-haves are melting shortbread, but my hubby is the cookie guy in the house. He makes traditional German cookies and uses wooden forms that his mom gave him. I, on the other hand, drop the dough onto the cookie sheet and hope it doesn't spread too much!

  18. I love the name of your cookies :-) I bet they taste as wonderful as they look!

My grandma used to make pecan cookies every year at Christmas, and my mom made shortbread cookies that just melted in your mouth. Mmmmmm! There were also walnut bars, butter tart squares, and rocky road bars. I've been trying new recipes each year for my Christmas cookie baking day, but I have to say the ones I grew up eating are my very favourites :-) Good food & good memories :-)

Thanks for linking your cookies up to Bake-N-Blog!
