Friday Musings

I can't believe how quickly summer is moving along. Unfortunately our summer weather is not cooperating. Here on the west coast, or should I say "wet" coast, our weather has been less than ideal. With cooler temperatures and more rain than what is "normal", it feels more like November than July.

Feeling sorry for me yet?

The only bonus is that I am at home and have been working on several projects, a few of which I gave you sneak peeks of. Come back next week for the fully monty.

Here is one project I finished with an invisible zipper.

I know, are you in awe?

But as daunting as the whole invisible zipper thing sounds, it is easy! Next week, I will be so kind and share how to sew a pillow with an invisible zipper. Then you too can be the envy of all who come and admire your pillows.

Since the kids have been at home my Macbook has been occupied by my son, he has been having fun creating stop animation movies with his Lego, and is currently waiting impatiently for me to get off, hence the sad and sporadic post. Ok, who am I kidding, my posts are always sporadic.

So this post will be short and sweet.

BUT I have the most amazing stupendous designer visiting this Sunday!!!!!
HE {yes, my first he}is a brilliant and witty designer who is on HGTV and works alongside another famous Canadian designer.

Come back Sunday to see who!

XO Barbara

  1. Great job with the zipper! (pat on the back!)
So sorry to hear about your summer weather so far - I feel your pain - for the 4 years we spent in Ireland, all we saw all summer was rain ALL OF THE TIME. Now it's the total opposite - gorgeous sun everyday but just so darn hot. Something in between would be lovely :)
Have a great weekend! Can't wait to see if "he" happens to be Tommy? (just a guess)

  4. Keep hearing everyone talk about how bad the weather is in Vancouver and I really do feel sorry for you! We all wait for summer and it feels like a bit of a rip-off when you don't get one!

    Love the pillow!

  6. Hoping the weather on our west coast improves. We are getting a bit too much sun and warm weather (quite hot and dry, too much actually) here in s.Ontario and not that I am complaining but the vegetation could use some rain. That is a great pillow.

  9. I think I know who's visiting on Sunday! :-)

Sorry you're having crappy weather so far this summer. Our spring was wet and cold, but things have gotten much better lately. I'll try to send some sunbeams your way :-)

    Have a great weekend!

I am so curious to hear about your Sunday visit! If it is Tommy Smythe then I will die. I LOVE him!

LOVE your pillow too! Where did you get the Ikat style fabric?

  13. Adding zipper to a pillow is easy? Yes, I am in awe, I find it very challenging.

Can't wait to read which designer you have lined up.

  14. I love it. I actually own the exact same pillow but it was a recent win. I'm so glad I did win it because I love it. Funny enough, I also have identical curtains. I swear I'm not copying.

  15. Jealous of your invisible zipper pillows! I have still been putting mine off and I don't think they are going to get done by this weekend for a party I am having. Shoot.
