Monday Blues..... and White!

Being a lover of blue and white, especially ceramics and anything chinoiserie, it is only natural I decorate my home with bits of blue and white. If I had a generous decorating budget, more blue and white chinoiserie ceramics would find their way into my home! A few ginger jars and Asian drum stools would be really nice.

My love affair for blue and white china began when both my grandmothers started collecting Czech "cibulak", Blue Onion china for me when I was young. Even after all those years, I am in love!

As  part of The Pink Pagoda Blue and White Bash, I am sharing snippets of my home where blue and white has taken up residence.

A Pink Pagoda print, which I simply adore. She creates some fabulous art pieces. I think I need a few more :)

There you have it. Not much, wish I had more. But I am keeping my eyes open every time I hit the thrift shop or Homesense. Homesense had a great collection about 18 months ago, and I kick myself for not buying more. The prices were so good.

How about you? Are you a fan of blue and white?

XO Barbara

  1. I also have Blue Onion (albeit Bavarian) from my grandmother, with a different transition strip from the rim to the center from yours. (That section is also different from the couple of Meissen pieces I've found). The rare pieces hang on the kitchen soffit, and we use the dessert plates and tea cups. If you ever find yourself in Thomasville, Georgia, look up a lovely B&B that's completely decorated with and furnished with blue and white china. The proprietress is a wonderful character.

  7. I'm not one for China, but those blue & white pieces are gorgeous! They remind me of Greece.

  8. I love how you've kept the blue and white to ceramics only. It really makes the pieces shine. Gorgeous photos!

We bought them separate in Chinatown decades ago! Let me know if you want Mr. Vintage Home to find some for you , as he has gotten some "picking"!

  14. Your pics rock and so do all of your vignettes! Oh and I love those boots of yours too. I have a place in my heart for blue and white objects ..... they were my mom's favourite colours and she always had little glass jars, books, and stuff all around the house that look similar to your pics. Oh I miss her so. You've done so well with that house. BTW, what are you going to do with the corbels? Paint them blue and white? ;-)

  16. I have two plant containers in a similar blue - somehow it brings me joy to see them next to my deep red items.
