Art in the Kitchen

One of my favourite trends I am absolutely loving is art in the kitchen. It elevates a kitchen from being a place to just cook and clean to creating an aura of class and style.

My dream kitchen would have open shelving where I could prop a piece of art or two.

Here are my favourites:

Would you love art in your kitchen?

  2. I love this idea. Don't really think to add art, but it looks fabulous. Now to find a spot. Hope you are doing well. Loved the piece in HO50.

  3. I have always loved having art in my kitchen.... along with a nice table lamp. It gives the room a feeling of inclusion in your overall home.

  4. Yes, yes, yes! Love these kitchens. I think art in the kitchen is so important. There's so many hard surfaces that you need to break it up with something pretty....whether that's a photograph, painting, artful accessories or sculptural table and chairs!

  5. Yup, me too. These are fabulous kitchens. I think my fave out of the ones you've posted is the one from Coastal Living. The beams on the ceiling are to die for. When we designed our kitchen, we put in some shelves but the top shelf is so high it really doesn't serve a purpose except to put a couple of baskets up. Dusting it is a problem too but I wouldn't ever take my shelves away, I just love them especially with the subway tiles behind them. I hang my pots right below.

  6. I love art in the kitchen, and the visual presentation of open shelving. I'm not sure about the dusting piece, but for now it's a non-issue anyway! Oh how I'd love to paint out the cabinets in this rental ;-)

  7. I've recently created a coffee station in my kitchen and injected a little frame with artwork from my 5 year in the mix - now, we all love it! He noticed it straight away - hmm, perhaps I should share that via a post one day. Thanks for stopping by and commenting today.

  11. As long as it's not near the stove, I'd love it. I have so many upper cabinets, would love to remove some and open it all up... but where to put all the things that aren't pretty?
