Recently I whipped up a pillow made from some amazing red chevron fabric from Tonic Living and some pre-made black trim for my son's room.
He chose to occupy the smallest room in the house and always wanted a bunk bed. He got my daughters' bunk beds when I made them their upholstered headboards. He loves the option of sleeping on two beds.
I am only showing you the top bunk, I don't want to scare you away if I show you the bottom bunk. His room is a tad messy.
Shocking, I know, a 13 year old boy with a messy room? How can that be?
I have been working on his space for almost a year.......I am almost finished.
Phew!
So just a little peak....k?
I love this vintage letter that I bought from my favourite purveyor of all things vintage, Birch and Bird.
I have a few of these pexiglass letters that are from gas stations from long ago.... I love, love, love them.
Well, I choose to take tomorrow off {the joys of being a teacher-on-call}....so I hope to finish the other pillow.
XO Barbara
Obsessed with chevron lately! That's one lovely pillow~~you don't see red chevron often.

Love, love, love the red with black piping! Looks fabulous! I have some pillows I need to whip up - one in particular for the guest bed which I hope we can put together, possibly this weekend! I don't know if my sewing machine is working or not.... hmmm - I may have to turn to you for some help ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome!! I love the letter, the map and the lamp - what a great room.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I aspire to "whip" up a pillow with chevron patterns perfectly matched!! well done. are you offering sewing lessons as a blog podium session!??! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the snapshot of the room, it looks perfect for a 13 year old boy!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing job, and the detail of the black piping is a nice touch. My love affair with everything chevron continues...
ReplyDeleteLove the red chevron with the black piping! Such a great fabric for a boy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at your beautiful pillow but also noticing your great photography skills! Looking forward to seeing the whole room but it looks amazing so far. (have you thought about painting the bunk beds in a dark shade of blue - navy or even a teal to throw things off, black would be too predictable - just a thought!)
ReplyDeleteLove what you've done with your sons room! My boy also chose the smallest bedroom and sleeps in a loft bed. Could totally see doing some of those pillows in his room! Thanks!
