Thanks

A while back I wrote a thank-you to a wonderfully generous blogging friend.

But she isn't the only one who has gone out of her way!

In the spring, I was contacted by a new blogger who was overwhelmed by the world of blogging, I simply gave her a few tips and tried to encourage her.

She is a blogger with such amazing creativity and a big heart.

If you have not gone to her blog, The Crafty Bee, well, your loss.

To show her appreciation she has so kindly sent me lovely gifts, which were such a surprise {ok, one was a giveaway win}. But still, I want her to know how deeply touched I am by her generosity!

One of those gifts hangs in my son's room. I love how it looks there!

 {If anyone has photo tips - how do you get the wall colour to show true? His wall colours are a blue-grey, yet they show up pink-grey in photos? Argh}

So thank-you dear Beatrice. You are one of a kind!

XO Barbara

  1. Let me know when you find out. Thanks kinda hard to explain. Especially when you're not using the same kind of camera and whatnot. Happy weekend.

  2. Very sweet...and very odd about the color, I was thinking your son wouldn't be too thrilled with a pink room, has he seen the photo? :)

  3. I have a +/- button on the back of my camera, and it lets me adjust exposure, hue, etc while looking through the digital display, so I can see what I'm getting. I just figured it out and it makes a world of difference. I kind of like the pink-grey walls!

  5. Haha, I wrote a whole comment and the only thing that published is wierd (spelt wrong)!

Anyways, I love blogging friends, they are the best! What kind of camera are you shooting with? I don't think I have ever had that problem before. Are you shooting manual or automatic?

  7. I find the colour shifts a lot inside depending on if I have any interior lights on vs. just natural light. Yes, that does look PINK! lol

  8. Hi Barbara. Thank you so much for this post. Not necessary though. You have been an incredible friend and supporter of my blog and I am so happy to have met you. Maybe we'll actually meet one day. Thank you again.

  9. I sort of wondered why the walls were pink until I read your comment...I didn't think his room was pink!

I would try different white balance settings. That usually works for me!

PS - I love the print I have of Beatrice's that I won in your giveaway!

  10. Remember we talked about white balance and gray cards? Isn't the crafty bee an amazing place to visit? Just think, if you get frustrated with photography and gray cards you can get out a pair of scissors and get crafty with it. :)

  11. I just read you're thinking of going to Blog Podium?!? Yay! I am going to try really hard to make it work, too. I'm excited to finally meet so many bloggers I admire and have been in communication with.

  13. I was going to comment on the white balance, but I see others already have :) So I'll just add that you can tell if you have the right white balance set by looking at the things in your image that are supposed to be white - guessing the stripes in the roman and mat around the framed image? They appear pink in your photo so that's why your walls do too.
Thanks for introducing me to a new blog - looking forward to reading!
