Dreaming...

Dreaming about area rugs.

Would love one of these in my home.

Swoon.....

But I have one of these,

who thinks that an area rug is so much better to lay on after running through the ravine and forest than his dog bed made just for him.

But a girl can only dream......

  1. Our dog sheds like crazy and I'm always vacuuming ours, but an indoor/outdoor rug is a good option with pets. They are flatter so snags aren't as much of a concern and also they can be taken outside and literally hosed off to clean. I have a small one by the entry to my house from the garage and have had it for years. It gets a lot of wear and tear, but it's held up beautifully. Amazon has a nice selection in case you ever decide to go for it.

  2. hahaha that's what we get for loving dogs, huh? :) We have a rag rug from IKEA in the basement that is easy clean... which is a good thing because if we're down there at least one of the dogs is always on it... and our girl dog has a tendency to lick it (I have no idea why). We also have to keep them out of the nursery for fear of them climbing all over our lovely shaggy yellow area rug.... no baby room for those two... haha

  4. LOL! I have three of the smaller feline types and they can ruin an area rug just as quickly as a large lab! SIGH! So I console myself with inexpensive rugs from HomeSense that can be replaced without crying....too much....though I would love one of your beautiful selections much better.

  5. Well if it wasn't the dog messing up our decor plans it would be the kids. Our perfect homes will have to wait!

  6. I feel your pain. I also have a dog and a cat and I have chosen to do a patterned jute/cotton rug from West Elm. It's no Madeline Weinrib but it will have to do for now:)

  7. Although I don't have a dog I can commiserate due to the kids. I'm planning on a MW rug for my family room, but need a dark colour to hide an disasters that might befall it.

  8. I don't have a dog but I have a 2yr old and I'm sure their messes are comparable ;) Those MW rugs are lovely - navy is hot!

  9. We have a ten month old chocolate Lab female that looks just like him, only she likes to CHEW my rugs. I had to throw out my wool rug because she ate several spots right down to the backing, and we don't leave her uncrated in the daytime. Oh I hope she outgrows this.

  12. ha! I have two of those :) lying at my feet right now... between the hair and their mud puddle fixation, everything in the house should really be brown! But they're SOOO cute! Thanks for your comment earlier, much appreciated - x

  15. Haha! These are gorgeous rugs and i can understand why you dream about them... I finally broke down and bought a boring indoor/outdoor sisal looking rug for our living room. There was no other choice with potty training twins!
Which would you get if you could pick?
