Christmas Around the House

With Christmas around the corner, I managed to finish decorating the house. Keeping it real simple this year, I just added bits of Christmas decor throughout the main floor. My go-to decor items are Christmas balls, I have 2.5 bins full! They are perfect for arranging in a bowl, to hang from a drapery rod or string together to make garland.

My Czech corn husk nativity.

Sent the hubs and son to get a tree, knowing they'd come back with a ginormous one! Love how we have the space for a beautiful tree! Had to  s  t  r  e  t  c  h   the ornaments all over the tree, spacing them so it looked covered.

The nutcrackers are chillin' with Beethoven (or is it Mozart?)

The quickest way to decorate - throw balls in a basket and you are done!

Simple, but I love it.

  1. Love all your Christmas vignettes Barbara. The ornaments hanging from the chandelier are a fun detail! And your tree looks great - its huge!

  2. So festive & Christmasy!! Love how you decorated :) Hope you're having a wonderful holiday season!! xoxo

  3. Barbara, your home is beautifully decorated. I love the corn husk nativity. My mom had many corn husk dolls when I was growing up.

  4. Nice work! Curious - where is the black and white striped ribbon from? Is it available locally?

    1. Leanne, it isn't a ribbon but instead is black and white striped fabric from Ikea, that I folded to make a ribbon.

  5. Lovely, as always! I really do like the relaxed simplicity of your tree. Feels very scandinavian.

  6. Lovely different Christmas pictures. My spouse and I had the privilege of being married at the Christmas House recently! Our day was phenomenal all the way, in vast part because of the adaptability and ability Janice has for facilitating. We planned our wedding in around 30 days (insane, I know).. be that as it may Janice was more than obliging from day 1. She was not difficult to correspond with, embraced our vision, and acknowledged our thoughts with energy!
    Happy X-Mass!

  7. Very pretty! I love the pops of colour mixed in with your neutrals and silver. That tree is huge! My favourite photo is the one with the pretty chandy.
