Two Fabulous DIYs

September 18, 2012

You were thinking I came up with something amazingly creative to wow your socks off?

Well, no. Not me. Maybe later.... I am up to my eyeballs in unit plans. I did switch two rooms around and finish painting my chairs. But have yet to whip out the camera and take decent photos.

But last week two bloggers wowed my socks off with their spectacular DIYs.

First up, the ever so chic and blogger rock star Christine from Bijou and Boheme unveiled her upcycle project she made for the Fall Home Show in Toronto.

When I saw it, I was speechless.

Pure genious and gorgeousness.

Her DIY bench, went from this:

To this:

I know, sick....

*Update: This bench can be yours - bid on it here, all proceeds go to Habitat For Humanity*

And then my pal Carol from The Design Pages, now a Frog Tape Blog Squad member {hope she won't forget lil'ol me when she gets all Frog Tape famous} created a striped file cabinet that made my heart go pitter patter.

I think my cabinet could use a little love like this.

So hoping I can organized here and get moving on a few DIY's that need my attention. But first, math, science and language arts need my attention.

XO Barbara

  8. Well hellooooo, how nice to pop over and see this!! You forgot to mention that you are my black & white inspiration and taught me everything you know about it's power. Christine's bench (well entire vignette) is stunning. We had a table exactly like that when I was growing up!!

  9. Both DIYs are stunning! The bench doesn't resemble its roots at all, and Carol's filing cabinet is to die for. It's the best filing cabinet makeover I've seen yet! And for you... I bet there's a classroom just begging for a touch of hodge:podge!

  11. It's fun to gild furniture, isn't it? It always has that lovely sheen. Much nicer than gold paint...or anything else.
