One Room Challenge: Week Six

The end is in sight! We are at week 6, next week is the final reveal! If you are new this week you can follow my progress starting here. And you can follow the other 19 bloggers who are slaving alongside me to get our rooms done!

I am sure you stopped by to see what progress I made this week. To be honest, I did NOTHING. I was going to go to Ikea on the weekend to find a rug and coffee table but our beloved family dog, our chocolate lab Henry's health took a turn for the worse. He refused to move all Saturday, wincing in pain, my husband had to carry him down the stairs. Sunday he managed to get up to head outside and eat a bit but he still was not behaving like he normally does. I had plans, but put them aside to be ready to take Henry to the vet. He has done this before, over Christmas, and seemed to recuperate. He has slight hip issues and is just getting on in age. But somehow this time it felt different, so we just lay low. Somehow getting my room done didn't matter. So I apologize I have nothing grandiose to share!

Silly dog, because by Monday he was back to his usual old self. I swear he is a cat in dog's clothing, living 9 lives!

I did bring in some pillows to the games room though! Proud of me? I shopped the house for them. Ok, they were kicked out of my son's room. He claims the chevron is "girlish", that his room looks too "designer-ish".  Really? Should I take that as a complement or an insult?

There was a long lumbar pillow in the space, but I am thinking it doesn't quite jive with all the pillows. Kind of an awkward layout and it is getting a bit dingy as my kids keep dragging it on the floor.

So I need your thoughts....

This arrangement?

Or this arrangement?

I also hung up more art that my daughter created.

I am excited as my Panyl order has been shipped and is due to arrived any day now! Can't wait to get that on the bookcases! Also I am off to Ikea this weekend to, fingers crossed, find a rug!

Go check out if my fellow bloggers are having as much fun as me!

  7. To shop your house and pull together what you have so far says a lot for the inventory you have on hand! Next week will be so much fun to see your final reveal. :-)

  8. Your daughter's artworks are amazing! Regarding the pillows, personally I don't think the black chevron goes with the rest of them. I would group the other three which all share similar colour palette together.

  9. Oh Barbara....I couldn't get past the bit about your dog. Waaaaaa......it's just gut wrenching when you have to watch them in pain. And you know I am the queen of shopping my house:)

  10. hm ... it is hard to tell from the close up how the pillow combinations look in the overall room. But from what I can see, I like the first one better for a more refreshing, spring look!

  13. Glad your dog is feeling better. I lost two very old sweet dogs this year, so I'm glad your guy has fully recovered! As for the pillow arrangements, I like the top one with the floral pillow. I think something free flowing is a good contrast to the geometrics. Excited for next week!

  24. Glad to hear your dog is doing better. Our beagle Reegan hobbles around and is on two different medications. I'm not sure how long this can last, and it's draining on everyone to see her on her bad days. Can't wait to see the big reveal!
