My Bentwood knock-off chairs {aka vintage Ikea }that cost me $5 each are complete!
Here are a little before and during pics.
After:
Since I adore the dipped leg trend, I decided to add that little extra touch to the chairs which I think give them that extra bit of glam.
Rub'n'buff and 3M Scotch Blue tape are my BFF's.
The kind folks at 3M Scotch Blue tape sent me some painter's tape to try out, and their Edge Lock tape was perfect for my project!
I love the smoothness of the tape, the ease of peeling it off and the crisp edge it gave!
{I re-did my tape job after the photo was taken, I made sure the tape followed the contours of the leg}
Then simply squeeze a small amount of Rub'N'Buff on your finger and rub away!
Peel off the tape. Inspect the clean, sharp edge.
Fabulous!
* I was in no way compensated by 3M Scotch Blue Tape, I am just glad they gave me some stuff to try and I liked it!
XO Barbara
Your chairs turned out great Barbara, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love it... amazing as always! The red and gold are perfect together!
ReplyDeleteYou know, when you first described the dipped leg thing, I was thinking I'd hate it! (Thought you meant the ombre trend, which I don't like in either hair or furniture)but I LOVE THIS CHAIR! It's taken the look of it from everyday to glam! What a great job!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun accent!

Love them. So where are you using them since you were vetoed from using them for the dining room?
ReplyDeleteThey are in the kitchen. And I knew that if just placed them in the kitchen, I would hear some complaints and now nothing. Works everytime!
DeleteThese turned out beautifully, and the line really is crisp. Did you have to touch up any red at all where the tape was? Is the family still boycotting them... Even now?
ReplyDeleteNo needing to touch anything up...that paint was gentle on the red paint yet gave such a clean crisp line -love it! And no the family has learned to just accept my design additions, he,he,he.
