Remember the thrift store lamp that went from this
to this using black spray paint and silver leaf?
(Want to silver leaf? Read how I did it here)
Let me refresh your memory with a trip down memory lane.
This lamp, from now on referred to a "she" was not wanted in our bedroom by a certain husband. He loathed this lamp and sent her to the garage.
She has finally taken up residence on a Craigslist find in my daughter's soon to be finished bedroom.
I think she goes well with this lamp I found at Homesense.
They make such a nice pair...
What is icing on the cake is that I am spotting this style of lamp in decor magazines and on various sites.

Ahhh... great minds think alike.
I loved it when you first did it and I STILL think it's great! Looks wonderful in your daughter's room!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it has found a new home in your daughters room. What a shame that your hubby didn't like it, I think it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNatural born trend setter? ha ha! I love the lamp, can't believe your hubby disliked it so much?! It looks way better after the makeover though, a lot more glam and a lot less bulky. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love this lamp Barbara, you did a great job with it! And I love that you found pics it was in, did you show your hubby how ahead of the game you are?? Hee hee.

You're so on-trend Barbara!! HaHa!! Ever since I saw your transformation of this lamp I've been eyeing an ugly lamp sitting in my living room. I wonder if I should try it?!

Your lamp looks so stylish! I really enjoyed the one time I worked with silver leaf. It's kind of fun, isn't it?
